"Merlin always wondered what kept happening to all his stuff."


This was a fun computer painting. It was actually done in two days as a start to finish computer painting, the same way I did the phoenix. I used open canvas 4 for most of this work and it's the first time I've ever drawn a barn owl. So far I think he turned out pretty nicely.

The idea struck me at work. Lots of birds are known for kleptomania (whether owls suffer from it too I'm not sure.) but the idea of a pet familiar starting a small collection from things he liked from his master was too cute not to draw. As you might be able to tell he is wearing a necklace, I think he rather likes the look of gems on himself.
